Personal papers of Donald F. Clausen who taught chemistry at Stout from 1964 until his retirement in June, 1980. The collection contains lecture notes, handouts, tests, and course outlines by Clausen including introductory chemistry, inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, food chemistry, and textile chemistry; handouts and answer keys relating to various laboratory experiments; photocopies of articles published by Clausen in various chemistry journals; and correspondence with Stout administrators, the staff of the chemistry department, former students, colleagues, and friends covering such subjects as university policies and practices, the chemistry department, creativity, research and teaching experiments, traffic problems in the Menomonie area, peer evaluation, various faculty committees Clausen served on, and personal matters. Also included are materials relating to the Stout Folk Dancers, a group which Clausen was instrumental in organizing and advising. Although some articles published during the 1940's and the 1950's are included, the bulk of the material spans the time that Clausen taught at Stout from 1964-1980.
